I accompanied two old high school friends on their journey to Leadville, Colorado where they ran in the 100 mile ultramarathon the Leadville Trail 100. They both fell victim to the lack of oxygen on the mountain and had to be medically evacuated. They both made a fully recovery but were disappointed in not being able to finish the race, as they have both finished 100 mile an 50 mile marathons before.
